Ministry Financial Update - End-of-Year 2011

We remain extremely grateful to, and humbled by each of you, our supporters, that continue to partner in this work and intercede to the Lord of the Harvest for the laborers and resources to continue what He has begun. We depend entirely on Him, and your prayers and partnership are vital to this work.

Monthly giving continues to fall short of what is needed to carry on all the projects and support of the operations of this post-orphanage ministry in Russia, but through the generosity of our partners, particularly at year-end, God has faithfully provided enough to fill the gaps month-to-month and continue to advance the work as He leads and provides. Thanks be to God!

One of the positive side effects of the global economic crisis, was that the entire mission community was forced to sharpen our pencils, and seriously consider every aspect of our stewardship of the resources God so faithfully supplies. A result for us has been that every year through this recent season of stewardship introspection, we've reduced our operational budget by approximately 10%, yet continue to see how God is increasing the reach and impact of the work.

Below is a breakdown of the budget for this coming fiscal year, 2012.

The Basic Budget Breakdown:

$45,000 facilitates ministry operations for fiscal year 2012.

This amount breaks down into the following expense categories.

Hope House                                                              $13,000

(This is basically discipleship taking place in Christian community.  The bulk of this amount covers the total rent, $10,800, for the house & ministry center, which also houses the club ministry, with much of the balance of this amount providing food for the guys who live at Hope House. The food budget for Hope House breaks down to little more than $30 per month per guy. This is simply a subsidy of what we are expecting them to do on their own, as they move toward an independent lifestyle.)

You Are Not Alone club ministry                                $10,000

(This is the outreach part of the ministry, reaching out to the new orphanage graduates coming into Voronezh for the first time this year from the orphanages, to begin their post-orphanage studies in trade schools and colleges.  Much of this amount also falls under the category of humanitarian aid, providing food for the kids at ministry functions, and helping to facilitate camp ministry for orphan graduates.)

Advocacy                                                                    $4,500

(This is the newest developing area of ministry focus, which has been slow in developing, but is finally coming into its own, as reflected in several recent and future projects, helping with the repair and restoration of uninhabitable homes, with an aim toward ending the cycle of children, the offspring of orphanage graduates, being taken by the state back into the orphanage system.)

Humanitarian Aid                                                       $6,000

(Direct aid to orphans to assist them with medical or other critical material needs.)

Job Skills Development                                              $5,800

(This budget category primarily funds the video production facet of the ministry.  Through this project a small video business has developed, providing employment and marketable job skills to orphanage graduates, as well as many opportunities to provide video services support to ministries with which we partner.  This includes Christian Camping Int'l.- Russia, a local ministry to children with Down Syndrome & their families, orphanage outreach ministries and camps, and a considerable amount of work in support of local church worship technologies for various churches in Voronezh.)

Administrative Expenses                                             $5,700

(this covers an 8% admin fee to our Dallas office for accounting and overhead provided by the office support staff, as well as small additional percentage dedicated to support development.)

Bottom Line:

Bottom line for us, as always, is that we covet your prayers for God to give us wisdom as stewards of the resources He is providing, and also wisdom and direction for how to engage potential new supporters in this work.  Please pray with us for the Lord of the harvest to move on the hearts of those to whom He's entrusted the particular resources intended for this work, for them to be made aware of the needs that exist, and for us to know what our role is in the process and act accordingly.  If you have any thoughts, ideas, or questions, please feel free to contact us.

Face-To-Face Opportunities?

Now that we have residency in Russia, our trips to the states are less frequent and usually shorter than they have been in recent years.  But, if you are interested in meeting face-to-face to discuss this ministry further, please let us know, and we will try and give you a heads up when we think we may be in your part of the world.  If you have any brainstorms about support development ideas or opportunities, of which you think we should be aware, please let us know by email.

Most of all, we treasure your faithful partnership in prayerful intercession.
