| Many have been asking for an update on Danielle, our daughter-in-law, and her recovery from the accident. Check the links on this page for an update. |
Things are still going strong at the Tranisition Center and "You Are Not Alone Club" in Voronezh. Thanks for checking in. You'll find some newly updated articles here on the site that have been added in July of '08. Check the news link "What's New on the Website?" for a summary of what may have been added since your last visit.
Of particular interest to many who have been praying is a report on our daughter-in-law and her recovery from the car accident. Don't miss the personal note from Danielle. Also, there's an update on our visa situation and the impact that may have on the ministry as well as our budget.
You'll also find a new story under the "Blog-A-Dot" chronicles entitled, "The Story of Igor", the inspiration for our move to Russia. Also, check out a new photo album just uploaded called, "Year in Review 2008"!
Thanks again for faithfully checking in on us. It means a lot that you care.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11
When people learn we are involved in orphan ministry, they often think of us holding babies or helping facilitate adoption. Although these are important and God ordained ministries, it is not the area to which we feel called. God has laid it on our hearts to minister to those who are left behind, both those still in the orphanages as well as those who have left the orphanages and are trying to find a way in the world, often il-equipped and alone.

Our Mission: To bring a message of hope to Russian orphans, that though abandoned by earthly parents, they would come to know a Heavenly Father who has purchased them to be His very own, bought with the ultimate price of His Son, Jesus Christ, and that once purchased, their purpose becomes knowing Him and making Him known to the ends of the earth.
In what ways have we been carrying out this mission?
|
| The children gave these orphanage visits the name "Day of Joy". Hopefully the reason is obvious. |
... by ministering in orphanages, bringing hugs, humanitarian aid, and a message of hope to hungry hearts through our "Day of Joy" outreaches.
|
| Mentoring takes place one-on-one and in small groups. |
...through Christian Camps for orphans. Evangelism and discipleship in a fun and creative atmosphere. The Russian National team is trained through CCI-Russia and hosts several camps for orphans throughout the year.
|
| Power tools?!? Yes! But, even more powerful is the living example of Godly men, engaging with the orphan in his world. |
...through orphanage construction aid projects. Practical aid offered to orphanages in the context of discipleship. Shoulder to shoulder mentoring of teenage boys, and yes, power tools!
|
| First they learn to minister to one another. The next step? The world outside their institutions. Beyond that? Beyond their borders. Going to the ends of the earth. |
...through post-orphanage transitional ministry now known as "GAP" (Graduate Adaptation Program). Building tomorrow's leaders for a new Russia and a new grace-based Christian community.
